Our trip to Lake Powell this summer was beyond my expectations. I have always loved Lake Powell vacations, and Skip claims they are the greatest vacation ever, but our trip this year takes the cake. We had a blast! As we packed up the last day we all wished we could stay longer, that's always a sign of a great time! The kids played for hours on end. We would day camp at one of the beaches and the kids would take off exploring. They all played well together and looked out for eachother. Taylor did a good job of keeping her life jacket on, and much to Uncle Dave's surprise, still managed to have a smile on her face despite the week long wedgie she endured. Here are a few random shots of the greatest family trip this family has ever dreamed of.
Taylor enjoying one of the 300 diet cokes we loaded onto the house boat. The sons-in-law couldn't believe our weeks supply. Hey, with the perfect ice maker on the boat we were set up.
Drew and Sam could have lived on this raft. We couldn't pull them fast enough or often enough to keep them satisfied!
When they weren't on the tube they spent their time playing the DS. I guess all that really matters is they were together.
Here's a shot of the whole group. It's so rare that we could all be in one place at the same time we had to do a family photo, even if we were all sporting Lake Powell hair-dos.
Seriously? Is it any surprise that he was able to master the surf board within minutes? And looked pretty hot while doing it!!
We played many a game of TTR. Naturally JD came away the big winner, but we expect nothing less from him. When he's playing it's really a contest to see who can come in second.
Thanks to Sarah and JD this was our Home Sweet Home for the week. They sure set the bar high for any future trips.
Dani loved every minute of the trip. She hit the ground running every day and went hard until crashing every night. We can't wait for the return trip!

Come on...you know you would have rather been at home doing the soup kitchen with Dan and I!!!
What a house boat! Man, no wonder you had fun. And only 300 diet cokes? Did you run out?
